Well written & interesting short stories

This author writes about such interesting situations and characters. Although this is different from her other books, the writing style and unique storylines kept me very entertained and wanting more. There is a fair amount of erotic sex in each story but the main thing that amazes me is how interesting the storyline is and how precise the author writes. I understand she originally wrote this under another name since it is different than her typical novels. But I was not disappointed at all. Well worth it!

Good short stories that aren't as dark as her usual fare.

Originally written as "Lee Scarlett" this is now being published under Ashley Zacharias. This is a really good set of short stories that fans of AZ will immediately recognize, with the exception that these don't feature the BDSM elements that her other stories feature so prominently.

Ancient Astronauts Reveal!

Yet, even more amazing is the engineering, mathematics, and astronomical alignments of these ancient edifices. One can only imagine who, or what, was the genius behind their creation. Maurice Chatelain, a former NASA engineer and member of the Apollo Team, has the impeccable credentials and intellect to attack this mystery head-on. He takes the reader on an amazing and compelling journey of inquiry and discovery to unravel these questions. This is a fascinating and exciting premise he presents that will keep the reader wondering, pondering, and wishing for even more answers. Highly recommended.

It's better to just formulate an hypothesis

This was a very detailed exploration into the mathematical relationships of calendars, time, measurements, navigation, and other facets of the human experience. There is a lot of food for thought here, and really makes you wonder where things really got started. I was going to give this 5 stars, but I think the author (who has top credentials), went just a little overboard with assumptions. He then uses those same credentials to more or less add weight to things that are really in the "beliefs" category, and not really scientific fact. It's okay to speculate on things, but make sure to keep facts and beliefs separate. It's better to just formulate an hypothesis, and leave it at that.

Besides that, the author really knows his math, and drives numerous calculations home to support various theories. For that, it's quite interesting, but could be somewhat boring to those who are not inclined towards numbers.

Chatelain's contribution is to raise our awareness and lets us wonder where the original mathematical knowledge came from.

About the Author
Professor David Ohana studies modern European and Jewish history. His affiliations have included the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the Sorbonne, Harvard University and the University of California, Berkeley. He is a full professor of History at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel. Ohana earned his Ph.D. at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 1989. He is the recipient of a Fulbright fellowship and has been a senior Fellow at the Jerusalem Van Leer Institute, where he founded and directed the Forum for Mediterranean Cultures. Since 2000, he has been a Fellow at the Ben-Gurion Institute for the Study of Israel and Zionism. Ohana's research areas include the intellectual and cultural history of modern Europe, political philosophy, comparative study of national myths, Mediterranean studies, Zionist ideology and Israeli identity. He has written and edited numerous books in Hebrew, English and French. Among the books he has written are The Last Israelis (1998), A Humanist in the Sun: Camus and the Mediterranean Inspiration (2000), The Promethean Passion: The Intellectual Origins of the Twentieth Century from Rousseau to Foucault (2000), The Rage of the Intellectuals: Political Radicalism and Social Criticism in Europe and Israel (2005), The Myth of Niobe (2009), a trilogy The Nihilist Order (2009) and Political Theologies in the Holy Land: Israeli Messianism and its Critics (2010).

Highly Recommended Love Story

Nice start to a new series. Great characters. I loved how strong they were and how they grew to allow love into their lives. It's good to see strong men who were capable of taking care of themselves who chose to be a part of a loving relationship.They make mistakes, lose their tempers, and are realistic as men who are figuring their way through a new romantic relationship. Even though this story is a wolf shifter paranormal, the story is really about men who just happen to be able to shift into wolves.

The male pregnancy aspect of the story is wonderful. The tenderness will melt your heart. The way they want and love their children is really nice. The way they are part of a bigger family of friends is also great. The progression of Dane's pregnancy and the delivery are well written. You can't help but love these guys.

If you like romantic love stories where the characters grow and learn and truly respect and love each other - this is a good story to read. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Looking forward to reading more in this series. Highly recommend.

A very good story...

This was a very good story I really enjoyed it from beginning to end. Dane and Burke's story was such a good read I really felt for the both of them and all that they went through and how hard it was for them to open up and trust each other. The trauma and heartache that all of these characters went through was really something and you felt for each of them and want them all to find happiness. I also liked how the author gave you little snippets of the supporting characters leading them to have their own story. There were some questions left unanswered that hopefully will be answered in the next installment. This was my first time reading Ms Samuels work and I look forward to reading more.

I wold have loved to get to know each and every one of ...

There were about 50 main characters introduced in the first 2 chapters and they switched POV randomly. I don't have issue with the fact that the author wanted to write about all these characters but my god there were so many in such a short amount of time. You can't get invested in the plot of the characters if you introduce someone new every other sentence. I wold have loved to get to know each and every one of these characters and their stories but it needs to be in several books not just one.

Dreamers is another fabulous novel by Knut Hamsun. It's about a small northland village, with Rolandsen as the antagonist. Quite an interesting blend of episodes and frustrations.

Oldie but a Goodie

I first learned of Knut Hamsun last summer when I visited Norway. Hamsun won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1920. My Norwegian cousin was horrified to learn that I'd never heard of him and said I must watch a DVD of Hamsun's "Hunger." (Excellent film, very powerful.) I was hooked and downloaded the book to my Kindle before I left Norway. When I returned home, I downloaded six or seven others -- they were very inexpensively priced. His characters are realistically portrayed; scenery and time -- late 1800's -- vividly portrayed.

(My only adverse comment is that the translation to the Kindle format sometimes breaks up compound words in a puzzling fashion: i.e., "cheer fully." If that bothers you, buy paperbacks.

A Guide to a Good Life

This book will guide you to getting control over your emotions. I wore out my first copy, which was an old paperback that fell apart from so much use, but then I found a hardbound copy in a garage sale many years ago. The book has changed my life in regards to how I deal with people, letting go of old emotional baggage, being satisfied, forgiving yourself and others, making the most of the present moment, and looking forward to the future. It has also helped me to help other people. If I had to choose one word, I'd choose the word "stalwart." It will help you to keep your feet on the ground versus letting your emotions control you and ruin your life. It guides you into becoming the kind of person you would admire for their fortitude and graciousness. In a nutshell, it tells you how to be a happy, decent human being and feel good about yourself right now, not tomorrow, not when you get x or x, or this or that happens, but right at this very moment. When I die, I've asked my people to throw this book into my grave with me.

An oldie but a REALL GOODIE!

The reason this book came to mind is that many years ago it was a great help to me when I was dealing with depression. For some reason I was convinced I was going to die young and every time i felt the least bit "unwell" I'd panic and blow it out of proportion and/or focus on whatever was "wrong" (real or imagined) to the exclusion of everything else, of course making myself worse (and making myself and everyone around me miserable). It has been a LONG TIME, and I mean a long LONG time since I've read this book, and yet it left such a lasting impression on me that when I noticed a friend going through the same thing I'd experienced all those years ago this book imediately came to mind and I wondered if it would help her as much as it did me. Seeing as it's still around, I guess a lot of people must have benefitted from it, so I decided to write this review in hopes it will help even more people. Good luck!

Would help anyone in pain

The other reviewer described the book so I will write about what it did for me. I had sprained a tendon in my leg/hip (how, I have no idea; it just came on) and was in some pain. I didn't know it was a tendon, so I began to worry about it. The pain increased, I began limping, and kept worrying--magnifying it into some sort of dreadful cancer eating away at my bones. (Well, you know, sprains should heal up in a few weeks. I'd had this for a couple months! And I still have it three months later.) Anyway, I read through this book and ended up releasing all the emotional involvement in my leg. The pain was reduced about 80 percent and I no longer limped. Now I just refuse to worry about it and instead bought a bicycle so I can strengthen and provide better stability for my muscular system.
We humans are very capable of endowing our minor injuries (or even major illnesses) with such power that they incapacitate us or, at the very least, demand a lot of attention. This book will help you put such things in perspective. Attitude truly is everything for the body/mind/spirit is a trinity, each component affecting the others. If you can improve your attitude you can improve your health. And the more you concentrate on your injuries or illness, the worse they will become. I highly recommend this book for anyone in pain or anyone with a bad attitude. And I recommend it for everyone who likes to read or who breathes on a regular basis. It's a keeper to which you can refer over and over for encouragement and reminders of the important things in life!
