About the Author
Santosh K Gupta is Professor of Chemical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India. A graduate of the same institute, he obtained his PhD from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA, in 1972. His research interests include modelling, optimization and on-line optimal control of polymerization reactors, and modelling and multi-objective optimization (using genetic algorithm) of chemical engineering systems. He has published over 200 papers in these areas, and has also authored/co-authored the textbooks, Fundamentals of Polymer Science and Engineering, Momentum Transfer Operations, Fluid Mechanics and its Applications, Reaction Engineering of Step-Growth Polymerizations, and Mathematical Methods in Chemical and Environmental Engineering. He has been Visiting Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Notre Dame, IN, USA (1985-87), National University of Singapore (1998-99), University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA (1999-2000), and IIT Bombay, Mumbai (2008-2010), where he was the L & T Chair Professor of Chemical Engineering. He has received several awards and honours including being the honoree in two festschrift sessions in the Catalysis and Reaction Engineering Division, AIChE Annual Meeting, Minneapolis, 18 Oct 2011, and the honoree in the festschrift issue of the journals Polym. Not great for a law student

The book is pretty useless. It provides very little insight on "What is corporate finance?" I use this book for law school, so my mind is not naturally gifted at math and its concepts. Yet, this book seems to be written for the financial wizard, not your typical law student. It would be better if written in a way that really broke things down in a better way.

I feel like I'm reading random facts with loosely related case law ...

I (am soon to) have an MBA in finance, and I have worked for an accounting firm. However, I cannot for the life of me understand what the author is trying to communicate in the introductory portions of the book, which are intended to serve as an introduction to accounting for those with no prior background. Language tends to be vague and imprecise.

I have read only the first two chapters so far, but the book already has a handful of glaring editorial errors. And, of the nine-law professor editorial board, only two professors specialize in some form of business law. There are no business professors on the editorial board.

The book seems to have little structure. I feel like I'm reading random facts with loosely related case law strung in between.

I thought the original Book of Questions was a must-have, but this is the one you need

When I was young, my parents had this book and used to (gently) demand that we "play" this book from time to time. It was always thought provoking and always an ice breaker.

Fast forward to when I moved into my own apartment in college: they were delighted to dump many of their well-worn possessions--including this book--into my lap. I used this book many a time with new and old friends to get to know them better, both in college, in my 20s and beyond. It's a great after dinner activity at a dinner party when the conversation has lulled, because everybody gets to know a lot about everybody else and everybody seems to like it. The questions, a mix of "what would you do in this situation" and "what's more important to you: x or y?" and other psychological questions, are thought provoking and entertaining. Of course, there's no right or wrong answer and every time I've used the book, people have seemed to enjoy it quite a bit.

I recently ordered this revised version and was really happy with the changes. First, there are more questions: 291, up from 217. Next, and perhaps more importantly, the "follow up" questions that some of the questions had have been moved from the back of the book to a light blue font below the relevant questions. This way, you don't have to clumsily flip back and forth and find the question number. It's a small change but a definite improvement. Finally, and most importantly, the questions are fresher, updated for today.

In sum, if you already have The Book of Questions, I highly recommend buying the revised and updated version, and if you don't already haven't the Book of Questions, I highly recommend buying this revised and updated version and trying it out with your spouse, your family, your friends--it's a great way to get to know people and quite fun!

This is one way to get to know someone with out feeling like you are asking 100 questions. I had the original book many years ago and saw this new revised edition and I really like that its up to date. Great way to kill time while on a long road trip. Good book for pillow talk.

I am a firm believer that this book should be on every coffee table in the country. Too many times you see a family with everyone glued to devices. Open up some moral dialogue people.

Informative. Well written. Scholarly. Comprehensive. The only issue I had is it's a bit academic and written as a catalog and does not really speak well of the artistic aesthetic. Rubens was incredibly talented with the human body and very imaginative in his work. I believe the book mentions that Rubens "breathes life" into his art. That's a very good assessment of Rubens. He was a master at capturing life. I'd recommend learning about Rubens and this is a great book to study.

This is the most beautiful book I own. If you are interested in drawing, you will love this. It's truly a gem - incredibly comprehensive with outstanding full-color plates of Rubens' drawings. I haven't been able to find his drawings in full color, even in the library, and here they all are. This book is worth every penny.
